This project is designed for long-distance couples, with remote interaction through ambient lighting for emotional transfer, and the nurturing concept of growing virtual plants together to increase the rate of transmission of brief messages and their intimacy.

Overview

Challenge

When experiencing long distance relationship, two people will often miss each other and do not want to call, chat.They want to interact to express miss.

The Solution

Design a smart desk lamp system that can be awakened and adjusted via a dedicated mobile application to enhance the long-distance relationship experience.

Race with friends for virtual plant growth and LOVE points

Every time we interact with our lover we get some LOVE points, which help the virtual plants grow. From the leaderboard we can get encouragement and promote the interaction between couples.

Remote interaction

When user B switches his/her status on the APP, user A's ambient light will switch to correspond to user B's status.

Adjust the projector

When not connected to Bluetooth / when the other party has no status update: Adjust the brightness of the light through the APP or slide any side of the ambient light.

Due to the fact that I went through multiple iterations after initially creating the low-fidelity version to arrive at the final high-fidelity one, some of the final high-fidelity designs do not fully reflect the low-fidelity version.
